Great video! My T1D diagnosis was in 1963. I have had severe hypoglycemia unawareness since the late 1960s. Over the years, I have lost consciousness many times. During my first year of grad school, I woke up in the emergency room after the police found me slumped over the steering wheel with the car still in drive. In 1978, while attending a conference in Columbus, Ohio, I passed out while ordering dinner in the hotel restaurant and woke up in the emergency room. The ER nurse explained that my BG had dropped to 14 mg/dL I currently wear the t:slim X2 and Dexcom G6 CGM and highly recommend both. Control IQ has helped prevent severe lows. Wearing a Medic Alert or other form of identification is so important, ss it lets people and emergency responders know that you have diabetes.
